Not too long ago …
Dear Frey,
”A bit envy here coz seems like u really SIMPLY have taken SIMPLE yet WOW-ing photos, lol. For me i’ll go slow since i was hunting for a good camera like about near 2 years? DSLR are too bulky not for some small function while the idea of you “driving a Tank for a bird hunt” is rather ridi, + i’m a lazy person :) but still, struggling between the VERY much lower DSRL pricing, while the price of GF1 is shooting up like a star, it’s almost 4k! Point n shoot cam i had 3 units already so not intent to spend anymore on it and moreover they turn out to be a bit boring while everything come out the same with not much functionality. So!! thought of going for the Pen EP1 but it doesn’t come out better than the GF1 according to reviews … well! your say? Regards.
Last week.
DIWA Press Release
DIWA (Digital Imaging Websites Association), a world-wide organization of collaborating websites, honors the Panasonic DMC-GF1 with a DIWA Gold Award. DIWA Awards are based on test results carried out in the DIWA Labs, and evaluations on more than 200 different criteria carried out by DIWA members.
The camera is based on the Micro Four Thirds System standard, as a result of which the dimensions of the GF1 are kept strikingly small. The extremely compact Micro Four Thirds lenses fit the Panasonic DMC-GF1 perfectly. Its 12.1 Megapixels of resolution and the optimized ISO sensitivities make the GF1 a proper alternative to a DSLR.
The Panasonic DMC-GF1 is a versatile camera; it can record both still shots and motion pictures in high quality AVCHD Lite.
Kai Thon, test manager of DIWA Labs, concludes: “Our test results show that Panasonic has equipped the Venus Engine processor in the GF1 with exceptionally clever algorithms, delivering outstanding performance in virtually all respects. RRP: 3200 MYR – 3500 MYR.

Like i told At once/twice/thrice … heh, “if only a cam is able to take exactly what our eyes can see; Its textures, the colors, at that very instant, no editing, just how it should be …”
A year or 2 of waiting and reading rumors news isn’t wasted after all. I believe everything needs a good planning, whether or not we succeed at the other end; Of course it matters, but hey, sometimes things do not work better this way, you know. and i hope not.
In this case, it’s proven to be true to plan. Micro Four Third has reveal itself finally. after the Olympus EP, and now the Lumix GF. Olympus and Panasonic has come a long way with it, together with Leica. The question is, will this technology evolved further and who is going to take the march? Will the others join in? We have read about Canon growing in their Market Share, in fact, they are improving/getting better than Nikon (the old school of DSRL segment). As for Sony that has Sleekly & Sexy design advantages over, Has to come out with “something” to overcome all this Camera Warfare, fashion expire when it gets old, technology don’t.
The Sem is coming to a fullstop. End.
